Muslim Women's Network UK have submitted written evidence to the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England which is gathering feedback from the general public and people working in health and care to inform decision-making on the government’s 10 Year Health Plan for England. MWNUK is calling for the inclusion of specific measures in the England's 10-Year Health Plan to address the significant health disparities faced by Muslim women. prioritising the health needs of Muslim women will contribute to a more inclusive and equitable healthcare system, addressing these disparities and improving the overall health of the population.

Some of the recommendations made by MWNUK include improving access to culturally sensitive healthcare services to better address the needs of Muslim women, tackling health inequalities exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, and enhancing community-centred mental health services. Key suggestions also include mandatory equality and diversity training for healthcare professionals, promoting person-centred and inclusive care, ensuring continuity of care for mental health patients, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to support women. Additionally, MWNUK advocates for better privacy in healthcare settings and the creation of specialist women-centred clinics.
