MEDIA STATEMENT

Muslim Women’s Network UK stands in solidarity with Jewish communities

Muslim Women’s Network UK (MWNUK) is appalled by the horrific stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green, London, who were targeted because of their faith. We stand in solidarity with Jewish communities across the UK.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured men, and we wish them a full and swift recovery. We recognise that the impact of such an attack extends beyond physical harm and will leave lasting psychological trauma.

MWNUK CEO, Baroness Shaista Gohir said: “This attack comes at a time of escalating levels of antisemitism. No one should feel unsafe because of their identity or beliefs, particularly those who visibly express their faith. The government must take robust action to protect Jewish communities beyond protecting places of worship and community buildings. People must also feel safe in their everyday lives, whether walking down the street, travelling, or going about their daily business.”

At a time of growing division, MWNUK remains committed to building bridges, fostering understanding, and working with Jewish organisations and other communities.

Britain has long prided itself on being a tolerant and inclusive society, values that are central to our shared heritage. We must not allow hatred and violence to erode these principles. Now more than ever, we must stand together against all forms of hate.
